Export guide
Get the right broker files before you upload.
Use this page to gather the right exports, then head back to the dashboard and upload them together.
IBKR
Export a Flex Query Trades file
Only the Trades section is required — InvestBuddy imports trades only and ignores other sections.
- 1Open Account → Reports → Flex Queries → Activity Flex Query → Create new.
- 2Under Sections, enable Trades only. Other sections are ignored on import.
- 3Set Format = CSV, Period = the date range you want to import (e.g. Year to Date or a custom range).
- 4Run the query and download the result as CSV or save the sheet as .xlsx.
CMC Markets
Export your trade confirmation history
Download the trading confirmations file covering the date range you want to import.
- 1Open the CMC Markets web platform → History → Confirmations.
- 2Filter by the date range you want to import — InvestBuddy treats each row as a single trade.
- 3Export the table as CSV or .xlsx. The file's columns must include AsxCode, Confirmation Number, Order Type, Trade Date, Avg Price, Quantity, and Consideration.
Upload checklist
Bring these files back into InvestBuddy
Once the exports are ready, return to the dashboard and upload the matching files below.
- IBKR: one or more Flex Query Trades CSV or .xlsx files. Multiple files for non-overlapping date ranges are merged automatically.
- CMC Markets: one or more trade confirmation CSV or .xlsx files. Duplicate confirmation numbers are skipped on re-import.
- Mixing brokers is fine — IBKR and CMC files combine into a single portfolio view, with ASX and US listings of the same ticker tracked as separate instruments.
